Dale Pauley - Class Of 1950

Dale Pauley, 82, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2014 at Brookside Care Center.

Dale was born on March 2, 1932 to the late Dail and Myrtle (Chapman) Pauley in Cincinnati, Iowa. During his early childhood he was raised in Powersville, MO and moved to Kenosha with his mother and sister in 1935 after the sudden passing of his father. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha and graduated from Kenosha High School in 1950.

Dale entered the U.S. Army after high school and served during the Korean Conflict and in Japan with the 1st Cavalry Division. He was honorably discharged in 1954.

On March 19, 1955 he married Phyllis Herolt of Kenosha. She preceded him in death on July 29, 2001.

Dale was employed with the American Motors Company and retired in 1987. During his retirement, Dale worked in the lunchroom at Harvey Elementary in Kenosha and spent countless hours with his grandchildren.

Dale loved martial arts, receiving his 3rd degree black belt (Sandan) from the Ying Yang Do Karate Association in Kenosha. Dale also had the opportunity to study under the late Rev. William F. Foster, Shihan and passed along his teachings as a Sensei at the Kenosha Youth Foundation. Along with his passion for martial arts, Dale was a passionate firearm collector and gun enthusiast. He enjoyed reading and was an avid Packer fan. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #286 of Kenosha.

Dale is survived by his sons David (Harriett) Pauley of Mesa, AZ and Lance (Paula) Pauley of Mount Pleasant; his grandchildren David (Breann) Pauley Jr., Keith Pauley, Robbie Pauley, Melissa (John Schneider) Pauley, his great grandchildren Caitlyn and Evan Pauley and his sister Shirley Stern of MI.

Full Military Honors for Dale will be held on July 6, 2014 at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
