Donations for the KBHSAA Scholarship Fund Silent Auction have been arriving steadily and are posted below.  We hope you'll check back for updates or, if you're a KBHSAA member, you may set your profile to "Notify Me" when this page (or any other page on this website) is updated.  If you're a Bradford grad and not yet a member, we hope you might consider joining KBHSAA today.  We hope you will join us on June 28 for an evening of camaraderie and fun at the DAA Banquet & Silent Auction!

A & R Door Service, Inc. has donated a certificate valid for preventative maintenance on your garage door and garage door operator (value:  $120.00; no expiration date; some restrictions apply).  A & R is locally owned and operated since 1983, and as their business card says, “We sell the best, service the rest.”  Their techs will get your garage door running smoothly!  They service all overhead sectional and rolling steel doors, dock equipment and electric operators, etc., for residential, commercial and industrial customers.  If needed, A & R can provide 24-hour service, 7 days a week.

Alpaca Art LLC has donated a $25 gift certificate and invites you to get in touch with your inner artist.  Choose bisqueware pieces from their inventory:  dishes & platters (microwave & dishwasher safe), household items such as picture frames and vases, figurines, banks, boxes and more.  We scrolled through Alpaca Arts photos on Facebook this morning and were inspired by the creative designs painted by customers!  Walk-in anytime they are open to paint; weekend reservations are recommended – please call ahead.  You’ll use their paints, brushes and supplies to create your design.  When you are finished, leave your piece with Alpaca Art.  They will clear glaze it and fire it for you!  Approximately one week later, your piece will be ready for pick-up.  It is now your work of art to take home and enjoy, or give as a one-of-a-kind gift!

Alpaca Art is open on Wednesday through Friday and Sunday from 12PM until 6PM; Saturday 11AM until 6PM; and closed Monday and Tuesday. 

Alpaca Art also has options for group painting events – whether it is a work party, church group event or scout meeting – pottery-painting is a great activity for all ages!  If you have under 15 painters, it is likely that they would just arrange for you to reserve a few tables during open hours. If there are more than 15 painters, they may discuss other options.  Please visit their website for more information. 

 

Anna's on the Lake has donated a $20 gift card (no expiration date; card may not be used toward gratuities and may not be redeemed for cash); and Anna’s on the Lake apparel:  a T-shirt and a knitted beanie.  The Coffee Shop is open daily for coffee, tea and pastries from 7AM to 4PM.  You may view their menus here on Facebook, then call ahead (262/455-7264) to order breakfast (served 7AM to 11AM) or lunch (served 11AM to 2PM).

With a one-of-a-kind view of the Kenosha harbor, Anna’s on the Lake is a destination straight out of a movie... we loved the sunrise photo on their FB page, shot from the deck on the south side of the historic Cream City brick building built more than 100 years ago.  Come for a quick visit and have a delicious cup of coffee while enjoying serene lake views; or book a relaxing getaway and soak in the views a little longer from their Lake View Apartment, available through Airbnb (accommodates up to 5 guests; 1 bedroom, 3 beds and 1 bath).

Beaver Springs, Wisconsin Dells has donated a pair of gift certificates (value $85 each; limit one certificate per party per day; exp. date: 09/30/2025); each certificate includes the following:

  • (1) Free long or short guided horseback trail ride;
  • $25 Fishing Park gift certificate good for bait, tackle rental, registration, fish purchases and all fish-related services; and
  • Family admission (2 adults & 4 children) to the Dells Wildlife Museum & Aquarium.

We were reading on their website and noticed they mention that no fishing license is required!  Wisconsin Dells... so much to do and see!  

 

John Bilotti ’62, a KBHSAA Board member, and his wife, Judy Bleashka Bilotti ’65, have donated the three gift baskets  noted below (sorry to report photos of these items are currently pending, but we hope to add them soon):

"Life is a Bowl of Cherries" Gift Basket (value:  $145; photo here), which includes:  Cherry candle in a tin; a cherry-theme cloth tote bag with a snap closure and an interior pocket; an apron in fanciful black & white stripes with cherries; Cherry print towel; a set of (6) braided coasters in a wire holder; cherry/pistachio snack mix; cherry balls covered with almonds; Bath & Body Works items:  Japanese cherry blossom travel size bar soap, body cream and fine fragrance mist and body lotion; a pair of women’s socks with cherries; and a small wooden sign that reads "Life is a bowl of cherries - make it sweet."

A Jigsaw Puzzle Enthusiast's Gift Basket (value:  $120; photo here), packed in a wooden crate:  a box containing (10) puzzles of various sizes; (3) 1000-piece puzzles; a 750-piece puzzle; (2) 500-piece puzzles; and a wooden Main Coon Cat puzzle… it's cat shaped with some cat-theme shaped pieces.

 

Brat Stop, Inc. has donated a $20 gift certificate [no epiration date].  The Brat Stop is well known for its family friendly atmosphere, great service and world famous food... open 365 days a year for breakfast, lunch and dinner; hours posted on their website are 8:00AM to close (full kitchen until 8:30PM).  Check out the large variety of entertainment events coming to the Brat Stop. 

Next time you're out and about, be sure to visit their Cheese & Gift Shop – a good friend tells us they sell the very best German potato salad available in Kenosha.  

Brat Stop's Banquet and Conference Center, The Parkway Chateau, can also accommodate weddings, parties and other special events.  Their attentive staff is available to answer all of your questions and will work to make your event as perfect as possible!

 

Buffalo Wild Wings has donated a $25 gift card (no expiration date) along with a trio of their signature sauces (photo pending):  Buffalo Sauce (low heat); Parmesan Garlic Sauce; and Barbecue Sauce (sweet with gentle heat).  Buffalo Wild Wings, dubbed the “Great American Sports Bar,” is open for casual dining Sunday and Monday from 11AM until 11PM; Tuesday through Thursday from 11AM until 12AM; and on Friday and Saturday from 11AM until 1AM. 

Rita Ginocchio ’61, KBHSAA Board member, had solicited the donation from Buffalo Wild Wings… she added a bottle of red wine to the gift basket:  Unti Dry Creek Valley Petit Frere 2022 vintage (a blend of 78% Syrah, 13% Mouverde and 9% Grenache, from Sonoma Valley, CA).

  

Cave of the Mounds® National Natural Landmark has donated a Pass good for (1) regular admission (adult) and (1) child (age 4-12 years), plus a coupon for a complimentary bag of gemstone mining rough [value:  $49.30; exp. date:  12/31/2026; note: free admission for children age 3 and under].  Cave of the Mounds was discovered in 1939, when a quarry blast revealed the entrance to this sparkling underground wonder.  Walking tours follow paved and lighted walkways, and the constant 50º temperature makes the cave feel cool in summer, warm in winter.  Located just 20 minutes west of Madison, the surrounding gardens explode in a dazzling array of blooms from early spring to late fall  – great for family selfies!  

Make a day of it and squeeze in a visit one of many nearby attractions:  Mount Horeb, House on the Rock, Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin, Spring Green, American Players Theatre, Mineral Point, Pendarvis State Historic Site or Wollersheim Winery. 

  

Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen, Pleasant Prairie has donated a $10 gift certificate (gratuity not included; no expiration date).  What does it mean to “Get a lot. For not a lot” at Cheddars?  It means loving every bite of the handmade, fall-off-the-plate food coming out of our kitchen. It means gathering with family and friends in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.  But here’s the best part – it means you don’t have to empty your wallet to get the dining experience you deserve. 

We love that we can go online to “Waitlist” for a table for up to 6 guests at our local Cheddar’s before we even head out the door!  Cheddars is open Sunday through Thursday from 11AM to 10PM and Friday & Saturday from 11AM to 11PM.

 

The Cheesecake Factory, Wauwatosa has donated a $50 Gift Card (no expiration date).  We could not resist exploring their extensive menu online and love that they have a link to a list of new menu items (mental note:  try the Spicy Ginger Beef Tenderloin next time we stop for dinner!) and happened upon the note that follows: 

“With more than 250 items on our menu, it may be hard to believe that we make things fresh and from scratch in each restaurant – but it’s true! Our prep kitchens are one of the busiest spots in our restaurants, and it’s where the magic begins every day.”

The Cheesecake Factory at Mayfair Mall in Wauwatosa is open on Sunday through Thursday from 11AM until 10PM and on Friday and Saturday from 11AM until 11PM.    

 

Cinemark™ Tinseltown USA - Kenosha has donated (2) Guest Passes – each may be exchanged at any Cinemark Theatre box office for ONE FREE admission.  Not valid for pass-restricted movies.  Other restrictions apply. 

We took a few minutes to browse the list of movies Coming Soon and noticed several we would like to see:  The Last Rodeo, Karate Kid Legends, The Naked Gun and Freakier Friday... with the coming hot summer days, it is the perfect time to sneak away from yard work and enjoy a movie!

 

The City of Kenosha has donated a gift certificate good for one-time use at Washington Park Municipal Golf Course for a walking foursome during weekday hours (value:  $57; expiration date:  12/31/2025).  Course hours are 8:00AM to 7:00PM daily, and should you wish to do so, you may book your tee time online in advance.

Dedicated in 1922, “Muni” is the only public golf course located in the City of Kenosha. This course, with its rolling hills and creeks throughout, offers a challenging, yet forgiving 9-hole layout that is a pleasure for golfers of all ability levels.  Amenities are available to enhance your day, from the Clubhouse Grille to the practice green; with clubs, gas carts (available to licensed drivers age 18 and older) and pull carts available for a nominal fee.  We loved the “course flyover” video available on the Muni website. 

 

Cost Cutters® Family Hair Salon has donated (2) free haircut coupons [value $21.95 each; exp. date: 02/28/2026], good only at these locations:  Kenosha, Racine,  Burlington and Zion, IL.  Visit your local Cost Cutters® salon today to get that full salon experience for the whole family from stylists who are passionate about making everyone look good.

Culver's – 52nd Street has donated a cooler gift "basket" (value:  $80) which includes:

  • A Culver's "Welcome to Delicious" insulated cooler with an adjustable shoulder strap; we think it is the perfect size to fill with 4-5 pints of Culver’s frozen custard and a small ice pack or two to keep it frozen during those hot summer days.
  • A Culver's water bottle;

Dairy Queen 22nd Avenue, Kenosha has donated a $30 gift card (no expiration  date).  You could take the kids or grandkids out for their favorite treats.  We checked their treats menu and are intrigued by the new Dipped Strawberry Cheesecake Blizzard® – will have to try a mini the next time we visit!  When we were kids, we loved the classic chocolate-dipped cone with the signature swirl at the top.  Of course, you couldn't go wrong by ordering a delectable DQ® Blizzard® cake for a special celebration with  extended family!  Our northside DQ® is open from 10AM to 10PM daily.

 

Danny's Cafe has donated (3) $10 gift certificates (exp. date:  03/17/2026).  This all-around-favorite cafe serves up the best breakfast in Kenosha starting at 5AM weekdays, 5:30 on Saturday and 6AM on Sunday.  We like to try to sit in a different location each time we visit, so we can browse the humorous signs on the walls throughout the cafe.  The attentive staff, fast service and reasonable prices make dining at Danny's Cafe a pleasurable experience.

A good friend confided that the Potato Pancake served with a side of bacon is her favorite breakfast.  Several of our friends rave about the Biscuits & Gravy, listed on the menu as a "customer favorite."   If we are out and about running errands, we love stopping in for a late breakfast on our own (in lieu of lunch), most often choosing an omelet with crispy hashbrowns or eggs with crispy bacon and pancakes.  And if the jumbo cinnamon rolls have not yet sold out, we'll bring home a couple of them "for the kids."

 

Joe Passarelli '89 and DeRango's “The Pizza King” Restaurant & Sports Bar have donated a $20 gift certificate (valid for dine in only; no expiration date).  Located in a quiet northside neighborhood in the heart of Kenosha, they offer an amazing assortment of food, from pizza to spaghetti to wings and so much more.  They also have a full bar service and an outdoor patio (weather permitting – with a separate Patio Menu that includes scrumptious frozen custard!).  DeRango's is open Sunday through Thursday from 11AM to 2AM and on Friday & Saturday from 11AM to 2:30AM.

    

Dickow Cyzak Tile Co., Kenosha area's premier source for all kinds of flooring – vinyl, carpet, hardwood and tile – has donated a $300 gift certificate (exp. date:  06/28/2026).  They specialize in bathroom and kitchen remodeling.  In 2003, they became a Carpet One® store in order to offer even more products and services to their clients.  We love their showroom gallery and the renovation process "cutaways" which detail the methods their team will use to transform your home's bath and kitchen spaces.  Remodeling trends may come and go, but the fine materials, expert craftsmanship and personal service they offer will never go out of style.

Dan & Kathy (Kammerzelt) Vaccaro, both Class of '69, have donated a certificate redeemable for (1) Scuba Discovery Pool Party for (10) people at their local small business, Diver Dan’s Scuba & Aquatic Center (value: $225; exp. date:  12/31/25).  Proper swim attire is required for all participants.  Scuba Discovery Pool Party participants must be age 8 years or older; participant and/or parent or legal guardian must sign required Try Scuba Release Form.

While browsing their website, we noticed Diver Dan's offers swim classes,  scuba diving instruction, an array of scuba equipment and also scuba diving adventures to both domestic and exotic locales.  Upcoming group travel destinations include:

Nancy Perri Euteneier ’67, KBHSAA Board member, has donated a lovely hat box gift basket filled with the makings for a celebration:  a $50 gift certificate for Infusino's 39th Avenue location; a bottle of Merlot and a bottle of Moscato; (2) stemmed wine glasses; a pair of wine-themed hand towels, a set of wine coasters, a wine pourer with chill rod and (2) wine vacuum sealers.  This would be a very thoughtful gift for a bridal shower or a special anniversary.

EAA® Aviation Museum, Oshkosh has donated (4) complimentary passes for admission to the museum ($60 value; no expiration date), which is home to a collection of more than 200 historic aircraft, along with world-class galleries and displays, including the Eagle Hangar that pays tribute to military aviation and the heroes who served.  It is a year-round destination, combining the passion of aviation’s past with the promise of its exciting future.  Kids can enjoy the highly interactive area:  the KidVenture Gallery, which features 16 hands-on exhibits; a scenic overlook from Tower of Flight; and also climb into the cockpit of a half-scale model of an F-22 Raptor. 

 

Festival Foods, a family-owned company headquartered in Wisconsin, has donated a $100 gift certificate (no expiration date).  Their local stores provide high quality products and an exceptional guest experience.  More than just a grocery store.  We love the Menu Ideas page on their website... we especially love their Skillet Meals, some of which can be ready in just 20 minutes!  

 

Gateway Cafe has donated a $15 gift certificate [no expiration date].  Owner Nick Katris says, "Our customers are the most important ingredient in our restaurant. We would like to express our most sincere appreciation for your patronage and look forward to continually bringing you the highest quality of food and service with every menu selection."   Gateway is open daily from 6AM until 3PM.

 

Rita Martino Ginocchio '61, a KBHSAA Board member, has donated a $50 gift certificate for The Italian American Club, which is open to the public for dinner on Wednesday-Thursday from 4PM until 8PM and on Friday-Saturday from 4PM until 9PM. 

Planning a party?  The Italian American Society’s beautiful banquet room and dining facilities have been the site of thousands of celebrations and events.  The menu features fine Italian food and cocktails, and the stunning banquet hall will be the talk of your guests.  The IA has three rooms available, seven days a week, for parties: weddings, funerals, banquets, showers, graduations, baptisms, confirmations, bar mitzvahs, meetings, etc.

The Italian American Club was established in September 1923.  It is a center for Italian Americans to gather for fellowship, cultural exchange, education and celebrations.  The IA perpetuates these ideals through membership in the organization; there are three different categories:  IA Mens’ Society; IA Ladies’ Auxiliary; and Ciao Membership.

Rita Martino Ginocchio ’61 is back… yesterday (June 12th), she donated a Mary Kay gift bag (approximate value:  $120), containing the following products, sold as the Timewise® Miracle Set®:   Timewise 4-in-1 Cleanser, ​Timewise Daytime Defender Sunscreen, Timewise Antioxidant Moisturizer, Timewise Night Time Recovery and Timewise Eye Cream.  

 

The Green Bay Packers have donated a football which commemorates the Packers’ 2024 season and bears signatures obtained from all players and the coaching staff at the beginning of last year’s regular season.  Please click here to view the list of players and coaches whose original signatures were transferred to the football.  It only took us about 2 seconds to spot Jordan Love’s signature:  J  #10.    We’ve noted the value of this item as “priceless.”

We’re with all those diehard Packer fans who have posted a copy of the Packers’ 2025 Schedule on their refrigerators, so as not to miss a single game... GO PACKERS!!!

Paul Hannes has donated a rustic pine Half Bucket-Style Birdhouse with a rope handle (value:  $50).  The exterior is coated with an outdoor stain/sealer, while the nesting box is unfinished, as it is best left that way for the health of the birds who make it their home. The birdhouse features an entry hole ringed by a large washer to prevent squirrel damage; drain holes in the bottom, in case wind-driven rain makes its way inside; an easy-mount bracket on the back (screw provided for hanging); and a hinged lid for easy clean out.

When we last visited Paul in his home workshop, he was working to glue up an intricate birdhouse he’d designed using a CNC machine:  it was made to look like it was constructed of small bricks (which formed the finger-jointed corners of the birdhouse), and he had incorporated a star in the gable end of the birdhouse. 

We’re looking forward to seeing that one, as well as all the other birdhouses he has in the works.  He tells us he sells his birdhouses by word of mouth, and he is once again looking forward to having a booth at the Walk in the Woods Art Fair at Hawthorne Hollow Nature Sanctuary & Arboretum in September.  We checked their events calendar, but as of this writing, it only goes out through August 30th.

 

Herbert’s Jewelers has donated a pair of  With You Design gents’ locket cufflinks in sterling silver and white topaz… a discreet peek inside, and he’ll be reminded again and again that you are always with him (value:  $199); and a simple but elegant Chisel® cuff-style bracelet in stainless with a black and white snakeskin design (value:  $35).  Herbert’s Jewelers is family-owned and operated since 1938; the third generation opened a beautiful new store at 7536 39th Avenue on December 6, 2024.  

We were drawn to the vintage photos of Herbert’s included on their website, and we were in awe of a sampling of exquisite custom jewelry designs posted there, as well.  Their staff is here to help you discover your next heirloom, providing you only the best in quality and value.  Store hours are Monday through Friday, 10AM to 6PM and Saturday from 10AM to 2PM.

Adela Hessefort '74, KBHSAA Board member, and her husband, Steve Hessefort, have donated the two gift baskets listed below:

A Christmas-themed gift basket (value:  $160; photo pending), which contains:  An Angel tree topper; Two sets of (4) Pfaltzgraff Winterberry Cooler Glasses, which are etched and hand painted (hand wash only); a large plastic serving tray in green with peppermint swirl ornamentation; a Sterilite domed cake carrier, sized to accommodate a 10” frosted and decorated cake; and a Holiday Home® 48-inch Tree Skirt in an understated grey color; the top side is a soft, knitted-look fabric and the underside is a fleece fabric. 

And a Summer Picnic “Basket” (value:  $145; photo pending), which includes:   A multicolored stripe Picnis Blanket sized to accommodate 2 to 4 people, made of polyester fabric with polyester fiber fill (machine washable; 60 inches x 72 inches); from the United Colors of Benneton line, a zip-top tote bag in two-toned blue with sturdy shoulder straps, lined with a white and blue-patterned lining, plus a set of (4) plastic placemats and (4) large plastic dinner plates in a complementary blue and white pattern; a bottle of Santa Cristina Pino Grigio Delle Venezie wine (from Italy); a bottle of 19 Crimes 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon (from Australia); and a Hammer & Axe travel Bocce Ball Game Set.

The HOBNOB Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge has donated a $50 gift certificate (no expiration date).  Established in 1954, HOBNOB has the ambiance of a classic Wisconsin Supper Club.  They take great pride in serving the “Best Food in Town,” featuring only choice cuts of Angus Beef and the best selection of fresh seafood.  Stop in on a Friday or Saturday night to catch live entertainment in the Cocktail Lounge.  Casual attire is acceptable; reservations are always recommended.  

P.S.:  We hear their signature ice cream drinks are fantastic... we recall mom having mentioned that her favorite after-dinner treat at Hob Nob was a Pink Squirrel, which she often shared with dad... ah, the memories!

Tenuta’s Delicatessen & Liquors has promised donation of a gift basket valued at approximately $100, which we will pick up about 1 week prior to the event.  We will not know until then what will be packed in the basket.  If time permits, we will update this post once we have the gift basket in hand and include a photo.  In the meantime, we will share photos of two signs we noticed on the west side of the building when we hand delivered our donation request letter in April (sorry the photos aren’t perfect, but it’s the words that matter). 

      

We loved scrolling through the photos on Tenuta’s About Us web page… it brought back memories from our teens, when our group of friends walked past the corner store en route to/from McKinley Jr. High.  Tenuta’s Delicatessen has grown from a small corner store to a thriving, world-renowned specialty shop. From major to minor repairs, the Service Department at Thomas Outdoor Supply will get your equipment up and running quickly.  Hours at their Kenosha location are Monday through Friday from 8AM until 5PM, Saturday from 8AM until 2PM and closed on Sunday.

 

Tricoli’s Birchwood Grill has donated a gift certificate good for a Free Pizza Party for up to (50) people (exp. date:  04/09/2026; dollar value up to $200, depending upon how many people are in your party).  We love the relaxed “Northwoods eatery & bar” vibe at Birchwood; you may dine in or take out, and weather permitting, patio dining space is also available.  We noticed plans for their annual Mother’s Day buffet event on their website; reservations recommended!  Birchwood Grill is open Saturday-Sunday from 8AM to 9PM; Tuesday-Friday from 11AM to 9PM; and closed on Monday.

Doug Vaccaro ’04, has donated a hand-knitted shawl in a 60% cotton/40% acrylic yarn in a lovely gradient color blend that ranges from white to grey to teal.  The exclusive pattern for this shawl, created by popular designer Stephen West, was used with permission to be donated to KBHSAA for this year’s Scholarship Fund Silent Auction.  The photo for this item is pending, as Doug is in the process of blocking the shawl.

 

Randy Vaccaro ’73, KBHSAA Board member, and his wife, Jan ’74, have donated a handcrafted three-track cribbage board (made by Etsy seller TTTFarmandWood), engraved with the Bradford "B" and the phrase "Once a Red Devil, always a Red Devil!"  The 2-piece cribbage board is held together by rare earth magnets and opens to reveal storage for these items, which are included:  3 sets of cribbage pegs and a deck of cards.

Silent Auction Rules

  1. The KBHSAA Scholarship Fund’s annual Silent Auction is open only to those attending the DAA Banquet.  Bidders must be present at event – no phone-in or online bids will be accepted. 
  2. Bidding opens at 5:00PM and ends at 7:30PM. 
  3. The bid sheet for each item will note the required Starting Bid and Bid Increment; bids that do not meet or exceed the stated requirements will be disqualified. 
  4. Winning bid will be circled on each bid sheet when the auction ends at 7:30PM.  
  5. Participants are asked to check the bid sheets to see whether they have winning bid(s) and bring winning bid sheet(s) to registration table.  All items must be paid for in full at the event (cash or check – sorry, no credit or debit cards, no electronic payment).
  6. Special note:  You must be age 21 or older to bid on any basket which includes wine or spirits; we will "card" the winning bidder of such items (i.e., photo ID must be presented).
  7. All sales are final; there will be no refunds of any kind.
