List updated: 06/11/2024
Final update:  Yesterday morning we added photos for the following items and flagged them as "New."  We have removed all the other "New" icons we had been using to make it easier for you to spot new items posted.

♦  Childs' Basket No. 2 donated by M/M Bilotti; and
♦  The wood cutting boards donated by Woodcraft.

Today we added a link to the Lakeside Players, Inc. 2024-2025 productions to the posting for their donation.

A & R Door Service, Inc. has donated a certificate valid for preventative maintenance on your garage door and garage door operator (value:  $175.00; no expiration date; some restrictions apply).  A & R is locally owned and operated since 1983, and as their business card says, “We sell the best, service the rest.”  Their techs will get your garage door running smoothly!  They service all overhead sectional and rolling steel doors, dock equipment and electric operators, etc., for residential, commercial and industrial customers.  If needed, A & R can provide 24-hour service, 7 days a week.

Alpaca Art LLC has donated two ceramic bisqueware pieces:  a 10-inch Coupe Dinner Plate and a Cereal Bowl.  The pieces are ready to be painted at their shop; you will use shop-owned brushes and may choose from the wide array of colored glazes in stock to create your design.  Shop hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 12:00PM until 6:00PM for “walk-in” painting, or there is an option for taking home the supplies you will need, should you prefer to work at home.  When you have finished your design, you leave the pieces with Alpaca Art for firing, and they will call when the pieces are ready for pick up, usually in about one week (value:  $50, which includes glazes and firing).  Get in touch with your inner artist!

Anna’s on the Lake has donated a $50 gift card (no expiration date; card may not be used toward gratuities and may not be redeemed for cash); a 12 oz. bag of Guatemalan Huehuetenango whole bean coffee (light roast) from Valentine Coffee Roasters of Milwaukee; and an Anna’s on the Lake coffee mug.

Thomas Outdoor Supply has donated a $15 gift certificate (exp. date:  09/15/2024).  When we began researching a new lawn mower last year, a good friend recommended this local business.  We ended up purchasing a Stihl “walk behind” battery-powered, self-propelled mower from them, and we have been very pleased with its ease of operation and how quietly it runs (plus, we don’t miss the exhaust fumes from our old gas-powered mower).  When it comes time to replace our old snow blower, we’ll be back to explore our options at Thomas Outdoor Supply… your best source for outdoor power equipment.

ULINE has donated the following items – click the individual links below to view a photograph on their website:
♦ An Ultimate Ears Wonderboom Bluetooth® Speaker in black (value: $100). A miniature boom box that rocks the house. Floats. Submersible up to 30 minutes. Big, bold 360° sound with plenty of bass. Connects to Bluetooth®-enabled devices up to 100 feet away. Rechargeable lithium-ion battery for up to 10 hours of playtime; and
♦ A set of Yeti® Rambler® tumblers (value: $100). 30 oz. capacity for all-day sipping. Magnetic slider snaps shut to reduce spills. No Sweat design keeps outer wall dry. Double-wall vacuum-insulated stainless steel. Dishwasher safe.

We were in awe as we drove through the Uline campus off of Hwy. N at I-94 looking for the building number we had been given… we don’t recall there being so many huge warehouses, each with an impressive number of truck docks, most of them filled with semi-trailer trucks in the process of dropping off or picking up merchandise. Every employee we encountered in our search for the elusive building no. 12355 was very nice, very helpful.

Randy Vaccaro '73, KBHSAA President, and his wife, Jan Vaccaro '74, collaborated on the design for this lathe-turned pedestal cake plate (taking inspiration from the work of Etsy seller Brenda Watts of CattailsWoodwork) donated for the 2024 Scholarship Fund Silent Auction.

This heirloom quality serving piece, crafted in solid walnut hardwood, measures 9” tall and 10-7/8” diameter.  The center of the plate is embellished with a laser-cut Celtic knot design medallion, pictured at far right. We have included a 1/4" thick circular glass liner with a polished edge (9" diameter, not pictured) to protect the walnut plate from nicks and scratches that might occur while cutting a cake.  Four cork discs have been applied to the pedestal base to protect your fine wood furniture.

The finish is food-safe:  three coats of Butcher Block Oil, topped with two coats of Howard Butcher Block Conditioner.  We are including a 12 oz. bottle of the conditioner for use in maintaining the finish.

The cake plate is sized to accommodate an 8-inch layer cake, but we think it would also look great on your buffet table holding cupcakes, brownies or even stacks of Christmas cookies.

The smaller of the two is crafted of beautiful contrasting hardwoods:  Maple, African Padauk and Walnut; it measures 13-1/2” x 5” (pictured at top right).

The larger cutting board is crafted of Tauari (aka Brazilian Oak), Purpleheart and Maple hardwoods and measures 14” x 9-5/8” (pictured at bottom right).  Both cutting boards measure 1” thick, have non-skid feet applied to the bottom to protect your fine wood furniture and feature a food-safe finish of Butcher Block Oil and Howard Butcher Block Conditioner.

Woodcraft of Milwaukee, located at 14115 W. Greenfield Ave., New Berlin, WI, lists upcoming demos, as well as upcoming in-store classes on its website.  The monthly flyer arrived in our mailbox last week, and we noticed the in-store demo for the xTool F1, a laser engraver, that sounds very interesting.
