Harold Lindner - Class Of 1960

Harold George Lindner, age 69 (pictured at right from the 1960 Spy), of West Cedar Street, Orangeville, died Friday, September 3, 2010 in the Bloomsburg Hospital Emergency Room.  He had been a resident since June at Columbia Montour Home Hospice at Maria Hall in Danville.

Harold was born on Sunday, June 22, 1941 in Kenosha, WI, son of the late Harold E. and Lucille F. Hanson Lindner. He was a member of the 1960 Graduating Class of Kenosha High School in Wisconsin.  Following graduation, he enlisted with the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Air Man First Class during his term from November 1961 until 1967.

For over 30 years during his working career, he was a field engineer for Xerox throughout the Bloomsburg and Berwick area until his retirement from the Rochester, New York branch in June of 1996.  He attended St. Luke Lutheran Church in Bloomsburg.  Harold had a tremendous enjoyment for computers, completing woodworking projects such as dollhouses, play furniture and bird houses.  He also participated with the St. Luke Sawdust Ministry helping in construction and home repair projects in the church and throughout the community.  He was currently a member of the Millville American Legion Post #564, and formerly a member of the Bloomsburg American Legion Post #273 where he served as Adjutant General.

Harold was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Lindner, and a sister, Donna Jutzronka.

He is survived by his companion of nine years, Shelva Blossom of Orangeville; two sons: Jeffrey R. Lindner and his wife, Jacalyn McHenry, of Stillwater, and Michael E. Lindner and his wife, Lisa Andrews, of Danville; four granddaughters: Kelsey and Cassidy of Stillwater and Ashley and Brooke of Danville; three brothers: Ronald Lindner and his wife, Janet, of Hawaii; James Lindner and his wife, Joan; Robert Lindner and his wife, Deb; two sisters; Mary Hartnell and her husband, Ron, and Linda Hoecheral and her husband, Leroy all of Wisconsin.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, September 9 at 10:00AM in the Stillwater Cemetery with the Reverend Jeffrey G. Bohan, of St. Luke Lutheran Church officiating.  A combined group of the VFW/American Legion will provide Military honors.
A Memorial Service will begin at 12:00 noon on Thursday at the St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9 St. Luke’s Way in Bloomsburg. Friends will be received prior to the service.
