
Alvin A. Christensen (pictured at right from the 1947 Spy) passed away on Thursday morning, March 26, 2026. He was born on December 25, 1928 in Kenosha, WI. Al married Mary Ruth Adelmann on June 26, 1952.
Al graduated from the University of Wisconsin in February of 1952 with a BSEE degree. He was drafted into the U.S. Marine Corps in April 1952, and in September 1953, he was shipped off to Korea.
Al and family joined King of Glory Lutheran Church in 1972. He was president of the King of Glory Lutheran congregation in 1977. Al rang bells at church as long as there have been bells at the church. He loved to play golf and even got a hole in one. He also loved to tell jokes.
Al will be interred at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona next to his wife, Mary, who passed away on June 14, 2014. He is survived by his children, Mick Christensen, Dave Christensen, Ruth Suk and Karen Martinson, as well as 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Contributions to King of Glory Lutheran Church would be welcomed in lieu of flowers.
A Celebration of Life will be held at King of Glory Lutheran Church in Tempe, AZ on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
