IN MEMORY

Gloria Ott (Kiffel) - Class Of 1954

Gloria A. Kiffel, age 75, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Monday, February 20, 2012.  She was born in Kenosha, WI on March 9, 1936, the daughter of Gilbert and Rose (Aaron) Otto.  She married her sweetheart, James H. Kiffel on July 3, 1954, in Oceanside, CA, where Jim was stationed with the U.S. Marines.

Gloria dedicated her life to her loving husband, Jim, and their children.  She used her many talents to create a beautiful, nurturing home.  Gloria's creativity and love could be felt in everything she did, from preparing meals to decorating to volunteering at church and school.  One of her proud accomplishments was a family cookbook she published and shared with her extended family.  Gloria opened her home to anyone who came to her doorstep, and there was always room for one more at the table.  She was "Mom" to all of her children's friends.  Her life was filled with close, loving relationships and anchored in her faith in the Lord.  She taught us the joy and purpose achieved by putting family first and fully committing to one's path in life.

Gloria is survived by her devoted husband, Jim; her children, Lori (Mike) Hughes, James (Rachel) Kiffel, Jane (Dave) Schneider, Michael (Sherri) Kiffel and Terri (Mark) Hubbard along with 18 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Allan and an infant granddaughter.

A funeral service will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (5701 Raymond Rd., Madison) on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at 11:30AM with Pastor Brent Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens in Madison.  Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10:30AM until the time of service.  A luncheon will follow at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
