Ellen Will (Whyte) - Class Of 1943

Ellen “Sis” Whyte, age 90, of Birchwood, WI died Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Our House Memory Care in Rice Lake, WI.

She was born on May 19, 1924 in Milwaukee, WI to William and Ella (Bennek) Will.  Ellen graduated from Bradford High School in Kenosha, WI.  She married Donald Whyte on July 20, 1944 in Kenosha.  Ellen was a homemaker and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She was known for her wonderful spirit and sweet smile.

Ellen is survived by her husband, Donald Whyte, of Birchwood, WI; her twins – daughter, Ellen Schmidt, of Birchwood and son, Donald Whyte, of Kenosha; a granddaughter, Megan Benson Nightingale (Kirk Benson) of Minneapolis, MN; 4 great-grandchildren:  Kieran, Wynn, Kalli and Gaby; a brother-in-law, Dode Whyte of Kenosha; and nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ella Will; and a sister, Dorothy Besch.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30AM on Monday, May 18, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Birchwood, WI, with Rev. Mark Bartlett officiating.  Visitation will be held from 10:00AM until the time of service on Monday at the Church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the United Methodist Church in Birchwood.

The family would like to express appreciation for the excellent care given by Our House Memory Care, particularly Lori Secord for the love she gave Ellen.
