Richard Flocker - Class Of 1947

Richard E. Flocker, Sr., 86, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie.

Dick was born on August 18, 1928, in Kenosha, the son of the late Domenick and Mary (Mee) Flocker. He attended local schools and graduated from Kenosha High School in 1947. He also graduated from DeVry Technical Institute.

On November 27, 1948, he married his high school sweetheart, Carol Eich, the love of his life, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. He owned and operated Sunnyside T.V. until his retirement in 1997. He enjoyed woodworking, yard work and gardening.

He loved St. Thomas Aquinas Church and School. He installed the first antenna system at the school, convent and rectory annex. He provided television sets and computers for the school. He also donated the original Bradford High School marquee. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Carol; his children, Richard (Barbara) Flocker, Jr. and Nancy (David) Rosenbalm; grandchildren, Jodi (John) Gray, Richard (Leslie) Flocker III and Nicholas Flocker; great grandchildren, Jessica Leigh, Jake Richard Flocker and Bryce Domenick Gray; grand cat, Bella (Miss Kitty) Rosenbalm; two sisters, Marie Oldani and Jean Eich; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

The family would like to thank Froedtert Hospital, Brookside Care Center, UHS-St. Catherine's Medical Center Campus, Home Instead and Hospice Alliance for their kind and compassionate care. They'd also like to thank his doctors and nurses at UHS-Kenosha Medical Center and St. Catherine's Medical Center Campus who have treated our father through the years, especially his doctor of 20+ years, Dr. Brian Hettrick.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 12, at Proko Funeral Home; interment was private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice Alliance would be greatly appreciated by the family.
