Loren "Larry" Karacki - Class Of 1953

Loren “Larry” Karacki (pictured at right from the 1953 Spy) of Rockville, MD passed away suddenly on April 29, 2012.

Larry was born on August 2, 1935, in Kenosha.  He was appreciative of the strong family support he had while growing up from his brother, Al; and sisters, Rose, Alice, and Gen.  In 1969, he married Susanne Schmidt of Baltimore, MD, and they spent their first years together in Morgantown, WV.

In high school, Larry was a skillful defensive lineman and scholar at Dartmouth and afterwards continued his studies in a masters of sociology program at Rutgers University.  Larry than pursued many different careers in sociology before settling into a long-term career as a research analyst for the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Larry was the beloved husband of Susanne; loving father of Peter Karacki, M. D., Falls Church, VA and Timothy Karacki and his wife, Kelli, Rockville, MD; dear brother of Alvin Karetski and his wife, Arlene, St. Louis, MO; son-in-law of Eileen and John Schmidt, Baltimore, MD; brother-in-law of Carol Sonnefeld, Baltimore, MD and Douglas Schmidt and his wife, Liz, Naples, FL. Many loving nieces and nephews also survive him.

Interment was held in Timonium, MD.
