Arlene Fonk (Nickolai) - Class Of 1938

Arlene Nickolai, 94, passed away peacefully while in hospice care in Tucson, Ariz., on May 7, 2015.

Arlene Rose Fonk was born on February 5, 1921, in Kenosha, Wis. Her parents were William P. Fonk and Rose Catherine (Molitor) Fonk. She attended St. James School, Kenosha High School and Trenary College of Commerce. She worked as a secretary at the Simmons Company before devoting her life to being a full time homemaker. She married Jack C. Nickolai on January 2, 1943.

She is survived by her five children, Thomas C. Nickolai (Beatrice) of St. Louis, Mo., Mary C. Caryl (Raymond) of Oro Valley, Ariz., Patricia A. Morrison (James) of Tucson, Ariz., William P. Nickolai (Cynthia) of Fontana, Wis., and John R. Nickolai of St. Louis, Mo. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother Kenneth Fonk.

She was active in various women's organizations and bridge clubs in Kenosha throughout her life.

Funeral services were held at St. Mark Parish in Kenosha, Wis., on May 18, 2015, followed Internment at St. James Cemetery.
