Jean Joslin (Ferch) - Class Of 1946

Jean A. Ferch (pictured at right from the 1946 Spy), of Waukesha, passed away on her 85th birthday, on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at AngelsGrace Hospice.  She was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin on September 14, 1928, the daughter of J. Douglas and Ava (Pratt) Joslin.  In 1950, Jean was united in marriage to Ralph L. Ferch. Prior to working, Jean stayed at home raising her three children.  Jean had been employed as a Text Librarian for Waukesha Public Schools.  She was a longtime member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.  Jean had been a volunteer at the Waukesha Library for many years.  She enjoyed biking, knitting, genealogy, was an avid reader and enjoyed playing bridge, but most of all she was very proud of her children and grandchildren.

Surviving Jean are her loving children:  Kenneth (Cindy) Ferch, Elena Ferch and Carol (Mike) Rose; six grandchildren:  Lauren (Juan) Huyke, Mischa Sequoia, Matthew, Spencer, Adam and Abby Rose; and one great-granddaughter; Annalee Huyke.  Also surviving is her dear friend of many years, Jim Harris.  Jean is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother; Douglas Joslin, and her loving husband; Ralph L. Ferch who died in 1976.

Funeral services were held on Friday, September 20, 2013 at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church (424 Hyde Park Avenue, Waukesha, Wisconsin 53188) with the Reverend Andrew Fetters officiating.  Interment followed at Green Ridge Cemetery, Kenosha.
