Philip Anthony Specht, age 68, of Kenosha, passed away on April 27, 2025. He was born on May 15, 1956, in Kenosha to the late Vernon Specht and Felicia (Riccio). He attended local schools and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in 1974 and later attended Gateway Technical College.
On April 23, 1977, Phil married Darlene Jenkins. They spent 48 very happy years together as of April 23, 2025. For many years he worked for the City of Kenosha Transit Department and retired in 2012 after 35 years of service. He loved spending time with his family and being outdoors. He loved hunting and shared his love of hunting with his two sons. In their younger years, he enjoyed time as a Boy Scout leader. Phil loved community theater and had a beautiful tenor voice. He loved to share his talents through participation in Carthage Community Chorus and the Choral Arts Society and many other musical roles in community theater presentations. He was also very active at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in the senior choir and the meal ministry.
He is survived by his loving wife, Darlene Specht; his sons: Joshua (Caitlin) Specht and Nathan Specht; his siblings: Robert (Ngoc) Specht, Paul (Sharon) Specht and Elaine (Christopher) Dierberger; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Services for Phil will take place at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (8760 37th Ave., Kenosha) on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 12:30PM. A visitation will take place at the church from 11:30AM until the time of the services. Inurnment at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park will take place on Monday, May 5, at 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice in Phil’s name would be appreciated by the family.
