Marion Duczak (Madura) - Class Of 1934

Marion Madura, age 92 of Kenosha, died on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at United Hospital Systems – Kenosha Campus.

Born on July 25, 1917, in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Kamila (Oldakowski) Duczak.  She attended St. Casimir School and was a 1934 graduate of Kenosha High School.  She also was a 1935 graduate of the College of Commerce.

On May 20, 1939 at St. Casimir Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Chester Madura. He preceded her in death on November 3, 1987.

In her younger years, Marion was employed with the Bigelow Sanford Carpet Company at Merchandise Mart, Chicago. She was then employed for 20 years as a Secretary and Treasurer with M.J. Duczak Furniture Company. Marian was also a bookkeeper with Barden’s Department Store.

She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Marion volunteered her time at St. Catherine’s Hospital as a receptionist in both the gift shop and in the kidney center.

Her life will be remembered by her son, Michael (Virginia) Madura of Orange Park, FL, her daughter, Mary Catherine (Thomas) Ruelle of Fredricksburg, TX; six grandsons, Robert, James, David and John Ruelle, Michael and Dennis Madura; two granddaughters, Debra Kirschbaum and Linda Landon; twelve great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandson; and her dear friend and sister-in-law, Marion Duczak.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, James Madura, a daughter, Evelyn Madura; a daughter-in-law, Susan Madura; a brother, Chester Duczak; and a sister, Irene Jacyna.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2009. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church (1919 54th Street, Kenosha). Relatives and friends are asked to meet at the church for the Mass. Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum.  A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home (3720 39th Avenue, Kenosha).
