IN MEMORY

Janice Nelsen (Hill) - Class Of 1948

Janice Nelsen Hill was born on June 12, 1930 in Kenosha, WI, the oldest of four sisters born to Viggo and Hattie Nelsen.  She died on December 30, 2008 in Torrance, CA.  Jan grew up in Kenosha and attended Mary D. Bradford High School.  At age 21 she married the love of her life, Norman Charles Hill, in Kenosha on September 22, 1951.  Jan and Norm were married for 57 wonderful years and raised 4 children together.  They lived in Chicago, Columbus and Scottsdale before settling in Torrance, where they have lived for the last 40 years.

Jan loved her children, family and friends with all her heart. She also loved bridge, golf, needlepoint, jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles. Her quick wit and fantastic sense of humor kept us all in stitches.

Jan is survived by her husband, Norm; her sisters, Sandy, Marilyn and Karen; her children, Vicki, Tom, Dave and Jamie; her grandchildren, Trisa, Sierra, Justin, Chris, Derek, Alexis, Abby and Nick; and her great grandchildren, Ryan, Dillon, and Megan.  Jan - the world is not quite so bright without you. And though you are gone, you will never be forgotten. You will always be in our hearts. We love you and miss you very much.

Memorial donations in Jan's name may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.

A Celebration of Jan's life will occur in late January with details on the date and time to follow.  Please sign the guest book at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
