Joseph Bella - Class Of 1935

Joseph S. Bella, 96, of Kenosha passed away Saturday November 19, 2011 at Kenosha Medical Center.  He was born on December 19, 1914 in Kenosha, the son of the late John and Helen (Plavka) Bella.  

Joseph was educated in the schools of Kenosha, graduating from Kenosha High School in 1935. He married Molly Kulich on August 30, 1941 in Kenosha at St. John’s Lutheran Church.  He was employed as a reel maker at MacWhyte Wire Rope Co. for 35 years.  He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, an usher and served on the church council.  He was treasurer and charter member of UAW Local #960 and secretary of Mac Whyte Wire Rope Local #960 Retirees.  He was a member of the Silver Dollar Club for 40 years and co-founder of Flint’s Inn Senior Golf League.  His hobbies were gardening and golfing.  Joe’s life mission was to make people smile with his jokes.

Survivors include two sons, Steven (Jayne) Bella of Twin Lakes, and Alan (Dawn) Bella of Kenosha, and his special friend, Delores Wade.  He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John Bella and Rudolph Bella; and two sisters, Julia Grienus and Helen Becker.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at St. John’s Lutheran Church (3833 8th Ave., Kenosha) from 9:00-11:00AM with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:00AM.  Entombment will be at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.  In lieu of Flowers, memorials for St. John’s Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
