Mary Jo Christensen (Wiberg) - Class Of 1932

Mary Jo Wiberg, 95, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 19, 2010, at United Hospital System-Kenosha Campus surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Kenosha on June 4, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Annabelle (Rooney) Christensen.  She was a lifelong resident of Kenosha and graduated from Kenosha High School.

On June 27, 1936, she married Edward Lentz.  He passed away on April 14, 1940.  She then married Carl Wiberg on July 3, 1943. He passed away on November 15, 1985.

She was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers of the Church.  Mary Jo enjoyed being with her family and visiting with people, reading, doing crossword puzzles and puzzle books.  She loved travel.

Surviving are a son, Kenneth Wiberg; four daughters:  Suzanne Lentz (Lawrence) Williams, Carole (James) Metallo, Karen (Stephen) Czajka, and Joanne (Raymond) Scuglik; one step-son, Charles (Joan) Wiberg; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; ten step great-grandchildren; and two great-great step grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by:  two sisters, Catherine Ferkin and Margaret Christensen; two brothers, Theodore and George; and two grandchildren, Michael Williams and Kara Scuglik.

A visitation will be held on Monday, March 22, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church from 10:00AM until 11:00AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM, with interment following at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, Masses in Mary Jo’s name would be appreciated by the family.
