IN MEMORY

Mrs. Marguerite Conrad (Spanish)

Marguerite E. "Mimi" Conrad, 70, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 10, 2013, in her home with her loving family by her side.

Marguerite was born to Elmer and Margaret (Mader) Seiler on April 16, 1942, in La Crosse, WI.  She graduated valedictorian from La Crosse Central High School in 1960 and UW-La Crosse in 1963. Marguerite earned her Masters degree from Marquette University.

On October 26, 1963, Marguerite married Robert Conrad. The couple began their life together in Kenosha.

Marguerite started her teaching career at Carthage College.  She touched many lives as a Spanish teacher at Lance Middle School and later Bradford High School from which she retired in 2009.  After retirement, Marguerite volunteered at Hospice Alliance and Prairie Lane Elementary and enjoyed many activities at the Kenosha Senior Center.

Over the years, Marguerite pursued many passions including extensive world travel, art and history and was a member of Wesley Methodist Church.  Marguerite’s greatest joys were spending time with her family and friends and visiting the family cabin in northern Wisconsin.

Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Conrad of Pleasant Prairie; three children, Kevin Conrad of Pleasant Prairie, Kerry (Charles) Andersen of Kenosha and Craig (Madeline) Conrad of Minneapolis, Minn.; four grandchildren, Alicia, Amanda, Conrad and Eliana; and her brother, James (Sonia) Seiler of Huntington Beach, Calif.

Visitation and a memorial service were held March 18, 2013, at Wesley Methodist Church, Kenosha.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to Wesley Methodist Church and Hospice Alliance would be greatly appreciated.
