Lois Berres (Morgan) - Class Of 1942

Lois Cecelia (Berres) Morgan, of Venice, FL, died peacefully on December 11, 2006 surrounded by loving family.  Lois was born November 29, 1924 in Kenosha, WI.

Lois spent her adult life in the Milwaukee, WI area before moving to Venice, FL in 1988.  In Milwaukee, Lois was a member of the Science Department at Franklin Middle School, a very active parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Faith Community and a golfing member of Tuckaway Country Club.  In Venice, Lois was a reading volunteer for Taylor Ranch Grade School and was honored as 2003-04 Volunteer of the Year by the Sarasota County School System.  Lois was an active golfing member of Plantation Golf and Country Club and worshipped at Epiphany Cathedral.  Along with her husband, Jim, Lois was a world traveler, having visited more than 50 nations – including leading a high school study group behind the Iron Curtain in 1988.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Jim; daughters, Kathryn A. St. Clair (James), Jane M. Nosbusch (Keith) and Patricia A. Morgan; sons, James P. Morgan (Beth) and John M. Morgan (Judy); sisters, Imelda Bonell (Blair) and Lorraine Wettengel (the late Bill); brothers, Eugene Berres (Lois) and Gerald Berres (Marlene); sister-in-law, Bernadette Lasky Loewen (Bill); brother-in-law, Louis Halmo (the late Mary Wallig Halmo); eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service was held at St. Mary's Catholic Faith Community in  Hales Corners, WI on December 27, 2006.  A Graveside Service was held December 28, 2011 at the family plot in St. George Cemetery, Kenosha, WI.  A Celebration of Lois' life was held in Venice, FL in January 2007.
