IN MEMORY

Glen Snyder - Class Of 1957

Glen W. Snyder passed away April 14, 2018.  He was born in Canton Ohio to Whitney Sears Snyder and Jean (Dauphin) Snyder, on August 3, 1938.  He was raised in Kenosha, WI.  He was a long time resident of Milwaukee, a place he loved.

He was very interested in manufacturing and worked in the tool room at Kearney & Trecker for many years.  His passion was interurban railroads and their expansion, and he traveled extensively on trains throughout his life.

Glen was politically active, particularly concerning equal rights for all.  He was a member of St. Mark A.M.E. Church in Milwaukee.  Genealogy was a consuming hobby for him.  He traced lineages in libraries, court houses and cemeteries before internet access was available.  Some of his favorite activities were attending the brain-storming sessions and the coffees at Golda Meir Apartments.

Glen is survived by his sister Jane (Edward) Stamm, nieces Valerie Bates, April Scharfenberg, Rebecca Stamm, Erin Stamm, and nephew Zachary Stamm and his best friend Vel Phillips.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sylvia Nelson.

A memorial service will be held St. Mark A.M.E. church Monday, April 23, at 11 AM.
