IN MEMORY

Beverly Jones (Niederkorn) - Class Of 1953

Beverly Ann Niederkorn was a loyal and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.  She left this world on Sunday, September 23, 2023.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hollis and Evan Jones; her sister, Anita, and her husband, Leon.  She is survived by her children:  Peggy Edwards (Art), Terri Lymer (Scott), Jim Niederkorn (Dea), Cindy Riordan (Pat) and Kristi McCullough (Seth).  She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Bev was born on April 9, 1936 in Kenosha, WI.  After graduating high school, she worked at First National Bank of Kenosha.  In 1956, Bev met Lee, and they were married on September 7, 1957.  They went on to have five children.  Through job transfers, they lived across the United States, but ultimately landed in Arizona.

Lee and Bev lived and worked in Phoenix for many years before retiring to Cottonwood, AZ.  While there, she volunteered at the local St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry and Immaculate Conception Parish, enjoyed the Quilting Club and traveled with Lee.  They treasured their time with dear friends and frequest family visits.  Lee died in 2007, and Bev moved back to Phoenix to be close to her family.

Holidays were made special by Bev.  Not a birthdate was missed!  At Christmas time, she enjoyed spending time in the kitchen, baking her famous oatmeal carmelitas and zucchini bread for family and friends.  Christmas cookies, Snowbank gifts and other holiday traditions have created a legacy that will live on.

Bev loved her family, her friends and her Catholic faith.  She embraced life with joy, enthusiasm, spunk and independence.  In her later years, she stayed active with weekly card games, day trips with friends, monthly theatre outings, church activities and plenty of Arizona Diamondback games.

Bev’s favorite thing was spending time with her family.  She especially loved being Grandma and GG to her grandkids and great-grandkids.

We love and miss you, Mom.  heart
