Adelaide Montemurro (Swartz) - Class Of 1945

Adelaide "Dolly" (Montemurro) Swartz passed away surround by family on Monday, June 10, 2024 after a short illness. Adelaide was born on September 4, 1927 in Kenosha to Concetta Stancato and Michael Montemurro, Sr. She attended school in Kenosha and graduated from Bradford High School in 1945.

She was married to Richard Swartz and had two children, Mark Swartz and Joan Swartz; she was the loving grandmother to: Tiffan Valera and Patrick Swartz; great-grandmother to Adriana Swartz and Dylan Gabrial Yunes.

Adelaide was a successful Realtor for I.J. Bear and Son (Bear Realty) from 1961–1996. She served as President of the Kenosha Board of Realtors and was named Realtor of the Year in 1983. She was also a Certified Wisconsin Real Estate appraiser for local banks and the FHA.

Adelaide served as a Commissioner for City Planning and the Redevelopment Authority of Kenosha.

She was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Church and the Italian American Society of Kenosha. The Italian American Society Honored her as Mother of the Year in 2000.

Adelaide was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Swartz; her parents; and her brothers:  Vincent, Anthony and Michael Montemurro.

Services will be held at All Saints Cemetery on June 27, 2024 at 11:00AM and a Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends at the Italian American Society following the service at 12:30PM.
