Jean Niederprim (Wiersum) - Class Of 1941

Jean M. Wiersum, 87, currently of Gurnee, IL, died on January 29, 2011 at United Hospital System Kenosha Campus.  Born in Kenosha on October 10, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Marie (Schultz) Niederprim.  Jean was a graduate of Kenosha High School and Kenosha College of Commerce.

On April 28, 1945 at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, she was married to Quintin Wiersum. Prior to the birth of her son, Jean was employed as a secretary with both the Simmons Company and the North Shore Railroad. She was a former member of Christ Episcopal Church.

Jean is survived by her husband, Quintin; her son, Richard (Anna) Wiersum; her granddaughter, Amelia Wiersum; her three brother-in-laws, Ronald (Ruth) Hagan, Harold (Lois) Wiersum and Myron (Carol) Wiersum; and a cousin, Nancy Blair.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Dee Hagan; her nephew, Steven Hagan; and her cousin, Richard Blair.

Funeral Services were held on February 8, 2011 at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, Kenosha, followed by interment in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
