Martha Bullamore (Stoltenberg) - Class Of 1956

Martha J. Stoltenberg, 80, of Elkhart Lake passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa.

Martha was born in Kenosha on August 4, 1938 a daughter to the late William and Edith (Knudsen) Bullamore.  She attended schools in Kenosha and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School.  Following high school, she attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she earned a Bachelors Degree in Education.  Later in life, she attended Lakeland College and attained a degree in Computer Science.  On October 6, 1962, she was united in marriage to John P. Stoltenberg in Kenosha.  Early in their marriage, they resided in Kentucky and Ohio, before returning to Elkhart Lake to raise their children.  In her early career, Martha taught in Freeport, IL and at Fairview Elementary in Plymouth.  After becoming an empty nester, she worked for HR Block preparing taxes, and she enjoyed the challenge of financial management.

Martha was an outdoor enthusiast with a great love for nature and geology.  She actively canoed well into her retirement.  She belonged to and volunteered with a variety of organizations that reflected this passion.  The organizations included the Ice Age Trail Alliance, Glacial Lakes Conservancy, Maywood and the Midwest Geographical Society.  She was a member of the Elkhart Lake Women's Club and the Elkhart Lake Study Club.  As a Girl Scout leader, she taught swimming at Camp Evelyn and was active with her daughters in the organization.  Martha also served as Secretary-Treasurer of Great Northern Landholdings and Mining Co., Inc.

Martha is survived by her husband, John; two daughters and a son, Jean Stoltenberg of Milwaukee, Paul (Melissa Gray) Stoltenberg of Portland, OR and Paige (Dave Ansehl) Stoltenberg of Foothill Ranch, CA; four grandchildren, Morgan and Parker Stoltenberg and William and Elizabeth Ansehl; a brother, Henry (Kari) Bullamore of Frostburg, MD; a sister, Mary Bullamore of Menomonee Falls; nieces, great nieces and great nephews. 

A funeral service for Martha will be held 1 PM, Saturday, September 15 at Wittkopp Funeral and Cremation Service with a gathering for family and friends at the funeral home, 123 South Street, Plymouth from 11 AM until the service time of 1 PM.  Inurnment will be in St. John Cemetery, Elkhart Lake.

A memorial fund has been established in Martha's name.
