Harry Schwartz - Class Of 1955

Harry "Hap" L. Schwartz Jr., 81, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at Froedtert South Kenosha Campus.

He was born on January 25, 1937, to the late Harry and Sarah (Britton) Schwartz in Kenosha.  He was educated in the schools of Kenosha, graduating from Bradford High School.  He attended the University of South Dakota. 

Hap entered the US Army Corps on July 17, 1958, and was honorably discharged on July 16, 1964.

On June 24, 1967, he married Christel Nassauer at First Congregational Church. 

Hap worked as a Sales Rep for Snap-On tools for over 40 years, retiring in 2000.  He attended St. Mary's Lutheran Church and was also a member of Masonic Lodge #47.  He loved spending time with his family and friends, going to Door County at the family cottage, golfing and walking. 

He is survived by his wife Christel of Kenosha; three sons:  Barry Jon (Julie) Schwartz of Hawaii, Todd Gilbert (Julie) Schwartz of Franksville, and Kristopher Gordon (Cindy) Schwartz of Kenosha; his grandchildren:  Ryan, Megan, Amanda, Bailey, Madelyn, Kristian, Zakry, Ericka and Teik; his great-grandchild, Tyler; his sisters:  Mary Ann (Lon) Rademacher of Ellison Bay, WI, Nancy (Tom) Johnson of Dallas, TX, and Elizabeth (Gordon) Stephenson of Middleton, WI; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Gilbert John Schwartz.

Funeral Services for Hap will be held on Monday, July 9, at 2:00PM at St. Mary's Lutheran Church (2001 80th St., Kenosha).  Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.  Visitation will be held on Monday from noon until the time of services at the church.  Memorials would be appreciated to Hospice Alliance, the Shalom Center or to St. Mary's Lutheran Church.
