Rose Nigro - Class Of 1954

Rose Divina Nigro, 78 (pictured at right from the 1954 Spy), of Kenosha, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2015, at United Hospital Systems-Kenosha Campus.  Born in Kenosha on Oct. 8, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Carmella (Garapolo) Nigro.

She was licensed practical nurse for 10 years. Later, she was employed by United Airlines for 30 years, retiring in 1999.  Rose was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, the Ladies Society of Mt. Carmel and the Padre Pio Prayer Group at Mt. Carmel.

She is survived by her brother, Alex (Nancy) Nigro of Kenosha; niece, Tamara Gandt of Kenosha; and two nephews, Alex (Brenda) Nigro and Mark (Holly) Nigro, both of Kenosha. She is further survived by many great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents; her two brothers, Sam and Salvatore; and her niece, Barbara Nigro Brever.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on May 7, 2015 at Our Lady of the Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, followed by interment at St. George Cemetery.
