August "Augie" Schepker - Class Of 1947

August H. "Augie" Schepker, 88, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 12, 2018, at Hospice Alliance Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie.

Born on August 9, 1929, in Kenosha, he was the son of the late August J. and Olga (Blumner) Schepker.

Before he retired, Augie was the owner/operator of several gas stations, Standard, DX and Conoco. In 1963, he added a Hertz car and truck rental.

Augie was a charter member and Past President of Kiwanis Club of Western Kenosha, 306 Club and Kenosha Flying Sportsman. In his earlier years, he sang with the Barbershop Quartet in the group known as the Kenoshans. He enjoyed skiing both water and snow, flying, boating and cars.

He is survived by his two loving children, Susan (Alex) Von Neumann of Pleasant Prairie and Charles (Louise) Schepker of Wheatland; five grandchildren, Lisa Lipp, Charles Schepker Jr., Jason Dence, Brian Dence and Karl Von Neumann; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Herbert Schepker of Greenfield; five step-children, Ann Marie Guerra, Shelly Flasch, Eugene Colter, Colleen Foster and Dan Colter; and his girlfriend, Edie Iverson.

Augie was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Elfreda Schlosser.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 16, at Proko Funeral Home at 10:30AM.  Entombment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 15, at the funeral home from 5:00PM until 8:00PM.  Memorials to Hospice Alliance would be appreciated.
