Carol Melville (Prestidge) - Class Of 1944

Carol Prestidge 86, of Kenosha, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Clairidge House.  Born on September 22, 1924 in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late William and Sarah Melville. She attended local schools and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in 1944.

On December 14, 1946 Carol married Richard J. Prestidge and moved to Coldwater, MI and lived there for three years until they moved back to Kenosha.  After moving back to Kenosha, Carol and Richard joined The Immanuel United Methodist Church and were lifelong members.

Carol loved to knit and crochet.  She also liked to read western novels, travel throughout the United States, fishing and bowling.  Carol was employed at American Motors, Fred P. Rudy’s and at Mary D. Bradford High School.

Carol is survived by two sons, Mike Prestidge and William Prestidge, daughter Diana Held, her grandchildren Robert and Krystal, as well as three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Donald.
