John Locke - Class Of 1944

John E. Locke, 73 (pictured at right from the 1944 Spy), of Kenosha, died Thursday, October 5, 2000 at Somerset Community Hospital in Somerset, PA.

Born December 30, 1926, in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late John E. and Genevieve (Smith) Locke.  He lived in Watertown, CT before moving to Kenosha as a child.  He attended St. Mark’s School and Bradford High School.

Before joining the Army, he also attended the University of Notre Dame.  He later attended Regis College in Denver, CO and graduated from Marquette University.  He also did post graduate work at Northwestern University and UW-Parkside.

In November 1968, he married Anna Dailey in Kankakee, IL.

John was an industrial engineering supervisor at American Motors until his retirement in 1982.  He was an instructor at Gateway Technical Institute for 9 years and later worked for Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

Survivors include his wife and a sister, Genevieve A. Locke of Kenosha.  His parents preceded him in death.

Proko Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements for burial at All Saints Cemetery in Pleasant Prairie, WI.
