Stephanie Blagec - Class Of 1939

Stephanie Blagec, age 90 of Kenosha, died on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at United Hospital System - St. Catherine's Campus.

A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she was born on July 18, 1921, and was the daughter of the late Alois and Caroline (Dumesic) Blagec.  She attended local schools and was a graduate of Kenosha High School.

For 34 years, Stephanie was employed as an accounting clerk with the Kenosha County Treasurers Office, retiring in 1984.  She was previously employed with Coopers, AMC, Great Lakes Naval Base and Broadway Department Store in California. 

Stephanie was a member of Kenosha Bible Church, Fellowship Four Square and Women AGLO.  She lived her life professing her commitment to God and her faith by composing poetry, gospel music and volunteering at the Shalom Center's Soup Kitchen. 

She found much enjoyment traveling, sewing, reading and completing crossword puzzles. Traveling with her friend, Alice, Stephanie was able to visit numerous countries, including Israel.

Stephanie is survived by her brother, Stephen (Bernice) Blagec; her niece and caretaker, Jane Johnson; great niece, Mayme Johnson; two great-great nephews, Tristan and Brody, all of Kenosha, and many other loving nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Louis Blagec; and two sisters, Anne Meurer and Carolyn Christian.

The family would like to extend a thank you to Hospice Alliance, Inc., Seema Khan, M.D., and the staff of Alterra Wynwood, for all the care and compassion given to Stephanie.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 10:00AM at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home (3720 39th Avenue, Kenosh).  Interment will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.  A visitation will be held on Friday, September 2, 2011 at the funeral home from 5:00 until 7:00PM.
