IN MEMORY

Herm Swanson - Class Of 1955

KBHSAA received a letter dated April 5, 2021; we were unable to find an obituary published online, but we have posted his photo from the 1954 Spy (his Junior year):

Dear KBHS Classmates,

It is with a heavy heart I send this note, as my husband, Herm Swanson, passed away on January 4, 2021 of pancreatic cancer.  We would have celebrated our 64th anniversary in February.

We are both Lifetime members of the Alumni Association.  He would have been a graduate of Class of ’55, however his family moved to Zion between his Jr. and Sr. years.  He played bass with Ed Stevens in orchestra, band, etc.  Plus played basketball, football and ran track.  I miss him very much!

Always,
Nancy (Kruse) ’56 Swanson
Apache Junction, AZ

Nancy,

I am sorry for your loss. Yes, I do remember Herman. Sandy Carlson always kept me up to date with the two of you when they spent their winters in AZ and visited with you two.  Keep him in your heart. Mary Ellen Parkinson '55

Dear Nancy,

So sorry to hear of Herm's passing. Of course I remember him, particularly on the basketball court. This is a time of life that is becoming difficult for us all but, wow, almost seven decades of marriage. What a wonderful buoy to hand on to in these turbulent waters. Blessings,

Charlie Siebert
