Elenore Edith Fallak Patrick peacefully died in her sleep on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at The Pines Healthcare facility in Davidson, NC. She just wanted to humbly fade away after 94 years of life and major illnesses in her last few years. She was born of Erdman and Bertha Fallak who lived outside of Germany but of German heritage prior to coming to America – the first born in the USA.
Elenore spoke only German until attending the first grade. She then mastered English and graduated from Bradford High School in Kenosha, WI. After high school, she worked as the administrative assistant for the head of Case Foundry until she married Edward "Pat" Patrick in 1952.
They had a son, Gary Lee Patrick, in 1953 who is an Eagle Scout and a doctoral-level psychologist. He continues to practice in Davidson, NC. Elenore was a leader in the local PTA and a wonderful mother.
Her husband (a firefighter) died in 1995. For a number of years prior to his death, she provided him home health care after he experienced debilitating heart attacks and strokes. Elenore then volunteered at the Lakeway Hospital in Morristown, TN, for the next 21 years.
She entered independent living at The Pines at Davidson in 2017. She progressed to assisted living and healthcare due to health issues.
Elenore was talented in developing close, meaningful relationships with a wide range of people. She was respectful of others and fair and open in her dealing with them. Elenore had common sense and was a lady of substance (not just image). She has had many friends and close friends. Elenore loved her older sister, Elvera Young, and she was exceptionally close to her father. She also loved animals. Elenore prayed to our Lord God daily.
Elenore leaves a lasting legacy of being of service to others, she most liked helping others. She will be missed deeply by her remaining family members and by others she influenced and/or was close to. As she said, many of her friends have already passed. Perhaps, meaning in life entails or involves rising above our trials and tribulations (as in what Easter actually denotes), Elenore was a person who has risen above them on so many, many occasions.
Services will be held at a later date.
The family has suggested memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society and/or The American Parkinson's Disease Association.
Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville is proudly serving the Patrick family. Condolences may be made to the family at www.cavin-cook.com.
