Sam Valeo - Class Of 1938

Sam A. Valeo, 87, a resident of Albuquerque for 34 years, passed away after a short illness on July 8, 2007.

Sam served in the United States Army from 1943-1945.  After returning home to Kenosha, he was a meat cutter for the A & P food chain.  In 1951 he opened a grocery store, and later a pizza kitchen.  He and his wife, Alice moved to Albuquerque in 1973 where he worked at Furrow's lumber and building supply store until he was 80 years old.

Sam is survived by his wife, Alice; his sister, Connie Frangelo of Kenosha, WI; his two daughters, Lynn Farnam of Holmen, WI and Susan Barengo of Albuquerque.  Also surviving are five grandchildren: Michelle Krome, David DiPalma, Sandra Farnam and Victor Farnam of Wisconsin, Rebecca Stutts of Illinois, Holly Olona of Albuquerque, NM and Tony Barengo of San Diego, CA; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Sam was preceded in death by his brothers, Tony, Frank, and Ralph.

A Memorial Service was held for family and friends at the Spiritual Retreat Center in Albuquerque on July 15, 2007.
