Irene Koroscik (Hitchcock) - Class Of 1943

Irene Hitchcock, 90, of Dubuque, IA, formerly of Merton, WI, passed away on July 8, 2015.

Irene was born March 17, 1925 in Kenosha the daughter of Thomas and Adela (Wojnicz) Koroscik.  She taught school at both Merton and Swallow Schools.  After raising her children, she was a kindergarten teacher at Pewaukee School for 20 years.  Irene earned a Master's Degree (+23 credits) from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.  She married her husband, Robert (deceased 1998) in 1946.  Together they raised four children in Merton, WI.  Living in the house Bob built, Irene enjoyed photography, bird-watching, her flower gardens, but mostly loved talking with family and her many friends.

Survivors include her children, James R. (Betty June) Hitchcock of Maryville, TN and their children Zacque and Andee (Ryan Saucier); Carrie J. (Norman Moses) Hitchcock of Bayview, WI and their daughter, Kelsey; Thomas N. (Debra) Hitchcock of New Berlin, WI and their children, Sarah and Emily; William J. (Karen) Hitchcock of Dubuque, IA and their children Niclo (fiancée Neesha Nerurkar), Jamin (fiancée Nicole Oneyear), and Kylah; a brother Thomas Koroscik and sister-in-law Mary Koroscik, both in TX.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; brother, Ronald Koroscik; sister-in-law, Gloria Koroscik; and brother-in-law George (Martha) Hitchcock.

A Memorial Mass was held on July 13, 2015 at the Church of the Resurrection in Dubuque, followed by interment in Holy Innocents Cemetery located in Nashotah, WI at a later date.
