Irene Potter (Paricka) - Class Of 1939

Mrs. Irene V. Paricka, 94, of DeWitt, IA, formerly of Kenosha, WI, died Friday, June 5, 2015, at Westwing Place, DeWitt.  Irene Veronica Potter was born October 29, 1920, in Chicago, Ill.  Her family moved to Kenosha when she was a young girl, where she lived until 2010.  Irene graduated from high school in 1939.  She was united in marriage to John Paricka on June 16, 1945.  Irene worked at American Motors and retired in 1984.  Sadly, John preceded her in death on December 12, 1991.  

Irene was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Kenosha.  She was also a member of the UAW, the Bradford High School Alumni Association, and an avid supporter of the VFW. Irene was very active and social with her friends and community, most recently her friends at Maggie's House Assisted Living. She enjoyed photography and playing cards. Irene loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons John (Carol) of Kenosha, and Joseph (Bev) of Charlotte, Iowa, and daughter-in-law, Gail of Saucier, Mississippi; grandchildren, Jen (Matt) Ciesielski, Joe (Gretchen) Paricka, John (Darliene) Paricka, Paul Paricka, and Gabrielle Paricka; great-grandchildren, Faith, Noah, Sara, and Matthew Ciesielski, Hayden and Elsie Paricka; and her favorite dog, Lilly.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Paul, and a brother.

Visitation will be from 9:00AM until 10:45AM on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Kenosha.  A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00AM at the church.
