Elizabeth Lentz (Hickey) - Class Of 1939

Elizabeth Anne Hickey, 90, Edgerton, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at Mercy Hospital, Janesville.  Elizabeth was born in Kenosha, WI on May 26, 1919, the daughter of the late Edmund and Bertha (Stange) Lentz.  She graduated from Kenosha High School and attended Gateway Technical Institute.  She married Lyle F. Hickey on October 3, 1945, in Plainfield, IL.  He preceded her in death on January 18, 2000.

Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She loved her fa1mily and enjoyed her home, cooking, gardening, and the outdoors.  While in Kenosha, she was active in PTA and Cub Scouts.  Elizabeth taught Sunday School and Bible School at Grace Lutheran Church, where she was a charter member of the Altar Guild.  She was a life member of the Bradford Alumni Association.  Elizabeth was also a member and officer of White Shrine Jerusalem and Amaranth.

Elizabeth moved to Edgerton in 1979 when her husband retired.  She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Edgerton/Milton Chapter 63 and served as an officer.  She was a member of the Sterling North Society and the Albion Academy Museum and Central Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Barbara Hickey; grandsons:   Stephan (Tonya) Hickey and Shawn (Pamela) Hickey; and great-grandsons:  Keith (Jen), Kevin, and Cory.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle; her son, Michael (BHS Class of 1965); her parents; and her sisters, Emma Lentz and Elsie Miller.
