Jack Ludke - Class Of 1953 VIEW PROFILE

Jackson Neil Ludke, age 89, of Richmond, Indiana, died Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at home after a three-month battle with Lymphoma.

Jack was born February 12, 1935 in Kenosha WI, to Glen M. and Cecil (St. Laurent) Ludke.  He was a 1953 graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School in Kenosha, Wisconsin and was Vice President of his Senior Class.

Jack married Catherine Angelo on February 15, 1958 in Kenosha, and they were married for 66 years.

Jack attended college at Millikin University in Decatur, IL, served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956 and the reserves until 1962. He worked in purchasing for American Motors Corporation (AMC) in Kenosha, WI and later as a Purchasing Manager with AMC in Richmond, IN; he also worked for Deutz Corp. in Richmond and Orbital Engine Corp. in Tecumseh, MI before retiring. Jack and Cathy moved to Perdido Key, FL in retirement and planned to build on their lot until a hurricane hit and banned new construction. They then moved back to Richmond, IN to be near their daughter.

Jack always looked forward to his Class Reunions and enjoyed keeping in touch with many of his high school classmates, including Jerry Lentz, Joe Greco, Lynn Shumway, Sue (Wade) Horsely and many who passed before him.

Jack enjoyed his Monday and Friday senior golf league at Highland Golf Course and his tennis group at Glen Miller Park on Tuesdays and Thursdays. He was a huge Green Bay Packers fan and always looked forward to football season and watching the games with his family. He and Cathy enjoyed their winters in Perdido Key, FL continuing golf and tennis with their snowbird group, walking the beach and enjoying the local cuisine.

Survivors include his loving wife, Cathy; his daughter, Amy (Daniel) Burris of Richmond, IN; his grandchildren, Ella and Effie; brother Kenneth (Marie) Ludke of Broomfield, CO; cousin Dick Johnson of Green Bay WI, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Stephen N. Ludke; and sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Ron Long of Broomfield, CO.
