Rose Olsen (Gasser) - Class Of 1937

Mrs. Rose J. Gasser, 91 (pictured at right from the 1937 Spy), passed away on Monday June 28, 2010. She was born in Kenosha on August 28, 1918, to Carl W. Olsen and Petra (nee Hansen) Olsen. She lived in Kenosha most of her life until May of 2003 when she moved to reside with her daughter in Corydon, IN.  

On February 2, 1945, she was united in marriage to Earle M. Gasser at the First Baptist Church in Kenosha.  Rose received her education in local schools and was a graduate of Kenosha High School.  She was a secretary to the Director of Special Education for 22 years, retiring in May of 1983.  She was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Kenosha, the Kenosha Unified School Secretaries Breakfast Club, The Bradford Alumni, and Lincoln Hills Christian Church of Corydon, IN.  

She is survived by her son, Darryl Gasser ( Judith) of Racine; daughter, Dianne Leonard (David) of Corydon, IN; brother, Carl M Olsen ( Ann ) of Pleasant Prairie; grandchildren, Heather Chambers, Troy Lyons, Dana Gasser, Joe Gasser, great-grand- daughter Chesney Lyons, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Earle. There will be a private memorial service for close friends and immediate family on Saturday, July 10, 2010.
