Quintin Wiersum - Class Of 1941

Quintin E. Wiersum, 89, died on March 6, 2012 at Arbor View Memory Care, Burlington, WI.  Born in Kenosha on December 26, 1922, he was the son of the late Charles and Mae (Balk) Wiersum.  He attended local schools and was a graduate of Kenosha High School and the College of Commerce.  He honorably served our country in the Army Air Corps.

On April 28, 1945 at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, he was married to Jean Niederprim.  She preceded him in death on January 29, 2011.

Quintin was employed for 35 years at Deringer Manufacturing in Mundelein, IL, retiring as Vice President of Purchasing in 1985. He was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church.

Following retirement, he and Jean enjoyed travel and liked to spend time with friends and their family.

He is survived by his son, Richard (Anna) Wiersum; his granddaughter, Amelia Wiersum; his two brothers, Harold (Lois) Wiersum and Myron (Carol) Wiersum; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Chester, Roger and Clyde.

Funeral Services were held on March 13, 2012 at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, Kenosha, followed by interment in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
