IN MEMORY

Dolores Lamich (Homer) - Class Of 1938

Dolores Ann Homer, 51-year resident of Lake Forest, passed away peacefully at Lake Forest Hospital on July 8, 2015 after a brief illness.

Dolores was the daughter of Charles F. and Mary Lamich, Sr. and was born in Kenosha, WI on December 31, 1920.   She attended Kenosha High School and the University of Wisconsin.  She married Albert Colt (Bud) Homer, also of Kenosha, in 1943.  She shared 53 happy years with him until his death in 1996.  Dolores and Bud travelled the world for many years as a part of Bud's business activities. They especially loved the extended time they spent in London, England.  In later years they also enjoyed their time in Naples, Fla., and "at the lake" in Northern Wisconsin.  Dolores was an active member of many groups and clubs in Lake Forest over the years.  She was a member of the Women's Circle at St. Mary's Church, Lake Forest Women's Club, Lake Forest Garden Club, Lake Forest Book Review and bridge groups through the Infant Welfare Society, St. Mary's and St. Patrick's church.  She loved nothing more than an afternoon spent with her friends over lunch and a game of bridge.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Charles F. Lamich Jr., her husband Albert Colt Homer and her son Rex Colt Homer.  Survivors include her daughter Sally Homer Kelly of Lake Forest, daughter-in-law Deb Jackson Homer of Jasper, GA, grandchildren Ryan Ann Kelly of Chicago, IL, Brennan (Stacy) Kelly of DeKalb, IL, and Christopher Homer and Caroline Homer of Atlanta, GA.  She is also survived by two nieces and her daily helpers.

Arrangements by the Wenban Funeral Home, Lake Forest, IL were private. Donations in Dolores's memory may be made to the Chicago Botanic Garden, 1000 Lake Cook Rd, Glencoe, IL 60022.
