IN MEMORY

Nancy Gantzer (Holden) - Class Of 1938

On September 15, 2015, Nancy Holden, 98, passed away peacefully in Bradenton, FL.

She was born on Armistice Day, November 11, 1918, in Kenosha, WI, to Frank and Helen (Shields) Gantzer.  Raised on her family’s farm, Nancy learned at an early age the meaning of hard work.  Educated in Kenosha schools, she was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School.  Nancy loved the sun and water and in her younger days could be found sailing along the shores of Lake Michigan or lying on the beach in Florida.

On July 13, 1960, in Kenosha she married Dean Holden.  Hairdressers by trade, they moved to Fontana, WI, and owned and operated Dean Holden Hairdressing for many years, eventually moving to Bradenton, FL, after they retired.  He preceded her in death in 2012.

She is survived by her nieces:  Sharyl (Roger) Vandamme of Sarasota, FL, Debbie Paulino, Nancy (Rich) Ledzki, and Lori (Steve) Naumowicz, all of Kenosha.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles and Robert Gantzer, and sister-in-law Gloria Gantzer.

She will forever be remembered for her independent, strong-willed and fun-loving spirit that was with her until the end.
