Margaret Griffiths (Ours) - Class Of 1941

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness, we announce the death of Margaret Minnie (Griffiths) Ours, who passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on June 22, 2020, at the age of 96.

Margaret was born at home on a farm in Bristol, WI, the daughter of David Morris Griffiths and Emma Lena (Pofahl) Griffiths. They preceded her in death, along with her brothers and sisters:  Aurora (Griffiths) Holzhausen, James Griffiths, Mildred (Griffiths) Heckel, Helen (Griffiths) Stoxen and Arthur Griffiths.

Margaret attended local schools and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in 1941.  On June 21, 1946, she married John Edward Ours.  He preceded her in death on December 16, 1992 after 46 years of marriage.  Margaret worked for 25 years at Kenosha Memorial Hospital as a nursing assistant.

After retiring in 1979, they moved to Lake Almanor, CA and later on, down to Roseville, CA.  Margaret enjoyed crafts, such as knitting and crocheting.  After her husband died, she did volunteer work for the Roseville Senior Center.  She also had a passion for working on her family genealogy and kept in touch with several relatives throughout the years.

She is survived by:  her children, Lynda (Ours) Moskalik and her husband, Carl, in Brookings, OR, and Donald Ours and his wife, Beth (Kinlen), in Milwaukee, WI; grandchildren:  Mindy (Ours) Evans and her husband, Robert, Jonathan Ours and his wife, Kelly Jo (Chapman), Jenifer (Moskalik) Klaus and her husband, Christopher, Benjamin Ours and his wife, Amy (Klebenow), Emily (Ours) Erpelding and her husband, Mark, David Ours and his partner, Mike Visetsouk, Maxwell Ours and his wife, Emma (Donlin), Jillian Ours and Daniel Ours.  She is also survived by 15 great- grandchildren:  Benjamin, Olivia, Sophie, Kaelyn, Haley, Molly, Jacob, Sophie, Jonathan Jr., Xander, Charles, Jadzia, Stella, Dax and Baby Ours on the way.

No public services are scheduled at this time. 

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Margaret’s caregivers, Dan and Kathy Gonzales, at Magic Moments Elder Care in Citrus Heights, CA.
