Eva Kuyawa (Lutter) - Class Of 1939

Eva Lutter, 87, of Kenosha, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at Mt. Carmel Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Burlington. Born in Kenosha on June 7, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Myron and Tillie (Dezoma) Kuyawa. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School and later the College of Commerce.

She married Charles W. Lutter, Sr. on May 31, 1942, at St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church. He passed away December 30, 1993.

Eva was formerly employed at her father's store, Kuyawa’s Market. She then worked for three years at Samuel Lowe, three years at KAT, and later retired from Ocean Spray. She was a member of St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church and St. Mary’s Friendly Center. Eva enjoyed going up north to "The Cabin" and traveling abroad.

Surviving are her two sons, Charles W. (Carol) Lutter, Jr. of San Antonio, TX, and Robert N. (Martha) Lutter of Chesterfield, MO; two daughters, Corrine S. (David) Martin of Burlington, WI, and Dorothy L. Lutter of London, England; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, David Kuyawa and Myron Keyes; a sister, Mary Anderson; step grandson, Jeffrey Martin; and great-granddaughter, Ella Kolano.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff at Mt. Carmel Medical and Rehabilitation Center and also to Seasons Hospice for their loving care.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 28, at Proko Funeral Home at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Saturday at Proko Funeral Home from 10:00AM until the time of the service.
