IN MEMORY

Margaret Schaller (Grueter) - Class Of 1942

Margaret Marie Grueter, 91, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 9, 2016, at her home.

Born in Kenosha on March 3, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Marcella Schaller.  Margaret was extremely intelligent and skipped school grades.  At the age of 16, she graduated from Kenosha High School and then graduated from the Kenosha College of Commerce.

On June 27, 1953, Margaret married John H. Grueter, to whom she was married for 54 years.

Margaret worked as an accountant and realtor.

She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.  Margaret was a dedicated volunteer for St. Catherine's Hospital Auxiliary and her church.  She was a talented cook and pianist.  Above all, Margaret was a proud, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her children, Dr. Jean (Dr. Thomas Niccolai) Grueter, Joan (Joe) Bullis, John (Cindy) Grueter, Richard (Suzanne) Grueter, and Sharon (Drake) Van Thiel; her 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and two sisters, Betty Burt and Jeanette Merten.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, John, and her brother, Alfred.

Funeral Services honoring Margaret's life will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 4817-7th Avenue. Private interment will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery in Burlington.  A visitation for Margaret will be held at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.  The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to St. Elizabeth Catholic Church would be appreciated.
