Betty Remstad (Holmes) - Class Of 1955

Betty Remstad Holmes, mother, grandmother and artist, passed away at her home in Lewisville, TX on May 15, 2016.

Born on the 4th of July 1937, in Kenosha, WI to Carl and Hilda Remstad, Betty graduated from Bradford High School and the University of Wisconsin (Go Badgers!).  Her brief career as a junior high teacher was soon replaced by marriage and family, a move to Texas, and a new business, Holmes Custom Builders of Carrollton, TX.  After retiring, she filled her life with volunteering, grandchildren, art, travel, and a passion for learning.  Most importantly, Betty enjoyed life.  She had a good life.

Betty is survived by her brother, Carl Remstad of Boulder, CO; her former husband, Richard Holmes of Boulder, CO; three daughters, Kristi Holmes of Flower Mound, TX, Laura Pearson of Carbondale, CO, and Joyce Guertin of Denver, CO; four granddaughters and one great grandson.  She was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and LeRoy Remstad.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Visual Art League of Lewisville in Texas.
