Shirley Ernst (Yule) - Class Of 1945

Shirley M. Yule, a resident of Kenosha, formerly of Dewey, AZ died Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Brookside Care Center.

The daughter of the late Leo and Clara (Toporski) Ernst, she was born on August 10, 1927 in Kenosha.

Shirley graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in June of 1945.  On June 7, 1947 she was married to Eugene E. Yule at St. George Catholic Church.   They moved to Scottsdale, AZ in 1961 and moved to Prescott, AZ in 1988.  She was a member of St. Germaine Catholic Church in Prescott Valley.

Shirley retired from Salt River Project as a secretary in 1988.  She was known to be an amateur cartoonist by friends.  She enjoyed swimming laps at the college on Saturdays and in earlier years held a license for Water Safety Instructor.  She would miss her "swimming buddies" when she moved to Arizona.

Survivors include her brother Ronald (Barbara), niece Susan Ruffolo, nephew Steven of Kenosha; nephew Ronald A. of Friendship, WI and grand nieces Krysta and Bailey Ernst.

Her husband, Eugene, preceded her in death in 1997.

Visitation and a Mass of Christian Burial took place on January 19, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.  Inurnment will take place at St. Francis Cemetery in Phoenix, AZ at a later date.

The family would like to thank Brookside Care Center for their outstanding care of their loved one.
