Ken Roach - Class Of 1956

Kenneth Ray Roach, 84, passed away at Azura Memory Care in Stoughton on Saturday, August 12, 2023. He was born October 1,1938 in Kenosha WI, the son of Ella G. Roach and Clifford O. Roach. He attended Mary D. Bradford High School and The University of WI, Madison graduating in 1961, with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Ken married Sandra Marriott on October 28, 1961 and they moved to Janesville to start a wonderful 61-year marriage.

Ken worked for General Motors and Gilman Engineering before starting his own business, Kenematics, Inc., later purchasing Janesville Tool & Manufacturing and moving both companies to Milton. Ken retired in 2000 and became a snowbird, spending winters in Sun Lakes, Arizona enjoying the sunshine, warm temps and plenty of golf with friends and family. Ken was an avid Badger fan enjoying season tickets to football and men’s basketball games. He coached 4-H softball, Babe Ruth Baseball, and raised show rabbits with his son, Chris.

Ken served on the board of directors of First Community Bank in Milton, was Citizen of The Year in Milton in 1990, and along with his wife, Sandy, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010 from Milton Area Chamber of Commerce Industry & Tourism. Ken has served on many other committees in his lifetime. He is a member of the Sun Lakes United Methodist Church in Sun Lakes, Arizona.

Ken is survived by his loving wife Sandy; his daughter, Beth (Bill) Drew, and son, Chris (Cathy) Roach his grandchildren:  Kaitlyn (Charlie) Meyers and their children Claire and Theo; Sydney Beaty (fiancé Chris Damon); Carson Beaty (Jenna); Jessica Launer (Matt) and their daughter ,Layne; Josh Roach (Samantha); Nick Drew (Lauryn) and their daughter, Addison; Matt Drew; Christopher Drew; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Mary Roach and his brother, Cliff and his wife, Joan. 

Services will be held on Saturday August 19th at The Milton United Methodist Church (241 Northside Dr., Milton) at 11:00AM, with visitation at 10:00AM until time of service.  Interment will be at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Agrace Hospice, The Alzheimer’s Association or the Milton United Methodist Church.

Ken’s family would like to thank Tracy and all the caregivers at Azura Memory Care of Stoughton and Bernadette along with the entire Hospice Team from Agrace Hospice for the love and care they gave to Ken. They are an incredible group of individuals.
