Vicki Saftig (Sunderland) - Class Of 1952

Vicki C. Sunderland, 76, De Pere, passed away Friday, August 26, 2011.  She died as she lived - in peace and with dignity, surrounded by the love of her family.  She was born in Kenosha, on October 13, 1934, to Victor and Ethel (Mielke) Saftig.  She attended St. James Catholic School and was a 1952 graduate of Bradford High School in Kenosha.  On June 9, 1967, Vicki married Robert J. Sunderland.

Vicki is survived by her loving husband, Bob Sunderland; four sons, Brad (Diane) Norton, Jeff (Ann) Norton, Chris Norton (special friend, Beth Hoeft) and Rob (Missy) Sunderland; 8 grandchildren, Briana (Matt) Eicheldinger; Meredith, David, Madeline, Taelor, and Brady Norton; and Bayley and Logan Sunderland; and a brother, Charles (Sue) Saftig.

Relatives and friends may call at Resurrection Catholic Church, Allouez, on Tuesday, August 30, 2011, from 9:00AM to 10:45AM.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church on Tuesday at 11:00AM, with Bishop Robert Morneau officiating.  Entombment in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Unity Hospice or Resurrection Catholic Church.

Vicki's family wishes to express their thanks to the Unity Hospice caregivers, to Dr. Patel and his chemo staff at the Vince Lombardi Center at Aurora BayCare, and to neighbors and friends for their caring support.
