Gary Mau - Class Of 1954

Gary W. Mau, 65 (pictured at right from the 1954 Spy), of Brooksville, FL passed away Thursday, November 21, 2002 at Brooksville Regional Hospital.  He was born on December 12, 1936, in Kenosha, WI and came here in 1962 from Wisconsin.  He was Christian by faith and attended Mary D. Bradford High School in Kenosha.  He was in the US Navy Reserves and went into active duty with the US Air Force.  He was a retired agent for Liberty National Insurance, a charter member of the Brooksville Golf and Country Club and a member of the JC's.  He enjoyed golfing, fishing and taking care of his yard and home.

Gary is predeceased by his mother and father, Ethyle and Walter Mau; and niece, Luanne Mlecka Sellers.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret Ann Surratt Mau of Brooksville; two sons, Todd Mau of Orlando, Tim and his wife, Judy Surratt of Pace, FL; two grandsons, Joe and Will Surratt; daughter, Amy and her husband, Jesse Caswell; and granddaughter, Lexis Caswell; sister, Phyllis and her husband, Louis Mlecka of Brooksville; and nephew, Phillip Mlecka of Rockledge, FL. 

Friends are invited for a celebration of Gary's life on Sunday, November 24, 2002 at 3:00PM at the First United Methodist Church in Brooksville.  Rev. Earl Hagar and Rev. Doug Zipperer will officiate.  Gary will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL on Monday, November 25, 2002 at 11:30AM.  A procession will leave the Brooksville Chapel at 11:00AM.
