Claire Gregorski (Kontof) - Class Of 1940

Claire M. Kontof, 93, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, January 12, 2016, at St. Joseph's Home.

She was born on May 1, 1922, to the late Julius and Theresa (Kosinske) Gregorski in Kenosha.  She was educated in the schools of Kenosha and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School.  She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

On June 18, 1949, she married Raymond W. Kontof at St. Casimir's Catholic Church.

Claire was a librarian for the Kenosha Unified School District for 24 years. Claire was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church. She was a member of WEA and a member of American Association of University Women.

Claire is survived by her husband Raymond; her son Raymond Michael Kontof of Chicago; and two grandchildren, Michael Raymond Kontof and Michalla Ann Marie Kontof.

She is preceded in death by a son Joseph S. Kontof; and three sisters, Lucille Schaefer, Catherine Glowacki and Alice Zanio; and one brother Leo Gregorski.

Private Funeral Services were held.  In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Shalom Center.
