Alex Savaglio - Class Of 1971

Alex F. Savaglio, 60, of Kenosha, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2013, at St. Catherine’s Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Kenosha on February 25, 1953, the son of the late Frank and Julia (Misurelli) Savaglio.  He graduated from Bradford High School in 1971 and  attended UW-Parkside, graduating with honors in 1975.

On March 17, 1990, he married Carol Ritacca Savaglio at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church.  Alex was employed at Kenosha Beef for 44 years, serving for many years as the purchasing director.  He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, where he served as Lector and Eucharistic Minister, Holy Name Parish Council Past President, Chairman of the Parish Festival, Bradford Alumni past President and was active with the United Way Campaign.

Surviving Alex is his wife, Carol; his daughter, Angelena Savaglio; two sisters, Antoinette “Dolly” (David) Schneider of Kenosha and Jean (Donald) Andersen of Pleasant Prairie; and his mother-in-law, Ermerlene Ritacca.  He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Peter Mariani, Dr. Steven Feuerbach and the ICU nurses and staff at St. Catherine’s Medical Center.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 23, at 10:00AM.  Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the Proko Funeral Home from 4:00PM until 7:00PM.
