Nancy Toft (Kaeppeler) - Class Of 1949

Nancy Jean (nee: Toft) Kaeppeler, 76 (pictured at right from the 1949 Spy), passed away January 8, 2008, at her residence. She was born on July 4, 1931, to the late Raymond and Florence (nee: Josephson) Toft in Kenosha.

On May 12, 1951, Nancy married Jonathan Kaeppeler at Grace Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on July 27, 2003. She was educated in schools of Kenosha and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School. Nancy was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Racine and was a 50-year member of the OES. She worked for Rosen Motors in Waukegan, Ill. for many years and she never wanted to retire. Nancy was very family-orientated.

Nancy is survived by her sons, Jeffrey (Sue) Kaeppeler of Kenosha, Kenneth (Kathleen) Kaeppeler of LaCrosse, and Christopher (Megan) Kaeppeler of Flower Mound, Texas; her daughters, Karen (Donn) Kelly of Oakwood Hills, Ill., Cheryl (Jeff) Buenger of Racine, and Holly (John) Mendoza of San Antonio, Texas; her 13 grandchildren, Nichole, Grant, Laura, Sean, Jonathan, Mitchell, Rachel, Blanca, Maddison, Sarah, Marisol, Quinn, and Jesse; her cousins, Raymond and Ruth Mundt of North Palm Beach, Fla.; and her lifelong family friend, Kim (nee: Scharf) and Joel Cleveland.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Colin Toft Kelly.

Funeral services for Nancy were held on January 12, 2008 at the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Racine, followed by entombment at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
